Whether you bike into the Valley at Tweng to enjoy the scenery or visit some nearby villages, such as St. Margarethen and Mariapfarr, you’re constantly surrounded by picturesque views. Nonetheless, don’t miss out on the sights just outside the doorstep of the Youth Hotel Mauser. The medieval castle, Burg Mauterndorf, is also well worth a visit and only a 10-minute walk away. Idyllic Mauterndorf is also the end station of the Taurachebahn, which takes you and your family on a pleasant trip to Tamsweg. Here you can enjoy shopping or maybe visit an Austrian café for some delicious cake. On the other hand, if you decide to take it easy for an afternoon, there is plenty of action around the Youth Hotel Mauser.
